The pledge all doctor’s make — primum, non nocere — translated from Latin, is “first, do no harm.” The pledge to do no harm as you conduct yourself and your business is universal. We spend a great deal in our daily lives at a number of levels to do no harm.
Daycos wanted to do more. We wanted to do good to be good!
To us, making business decisions that focused on all four stakeholders — our customers, our employees, our community and our company — was the right thing to do. We would argue it’s the savvy thing to do.
When we invest in the community where we work, we improve people’s lives. When we invest in our employees, we retain high rates of employee satisfaction and retention, both of which serve to make us a better company. When we invest in our customers through innovative solutions and service, we add value to their organization and our relationship with them, which in turn delivers value to the company. So to us, making decisions that weighed the impact on all of these stakeholders was really the only way to go about it.
